As i sat down in my new workplace today, my mind travelled back to a place by the lakeside where I used to work for nearly five years. It reminds me of this song.....

Music Notebook Moleskine

I bought a music notebook Moleskine at Czip Lee Bangsar last Sunday. Well, according to the note stated on its light green cover, the notebook is for musicians and sound engineers, for jotting down harmonies and melodies. What am i going to do with this music notebook Moleskine? Of course I am not going to draw in this type of notebook. However, since I hv never compose any songs before, I'll probably copy some beautiful melodies or jotting down interesting guitar tabs on it. For a start, I have written Malaysia's National Anthem.... "Negaraku". In English, it means "My Country".

The Making Of F-27

As far as i can remember, Malaysia Airlines F-27 was the first airplane that I had ever seen when i was a kid sometime back in early 70's. Since my house in Rapat Setia, Ipoh was just a few miles away from the airport, the roars of its engines can clearly be heard from far and my arwah father used to bring me to watch the airplane from outside the airport fence.

Since then, airplane has been part of my life and i am glad to had the opportunity to start my carrier as the avionics engineer for several types of airplane such as the Skyhawk, Aermacchi, PC-7 and Sikorsky (Nuri) before moving into the Air Traffic Management. Insyallah, in a couple of months ahead, i will be back to where i started before and 'enjoy' the smell of the avtur and avgas.

So, after more than 30 years, i would like to bring my memories back to where i hv gone thru and missed thru a simple drawing of this nostalgic aircraft, the Fokker Friendship 27. For the first time also, i would like to share view fellow viewers how the drawing was made.

This time I am using real water colours (borrowed from my daughter), not Faber Castel Water Colour Pencil. Still struggling to 'play' with diluted colours. I use pencil as the outline. Maybe next time I'll try to use black ink. This time also, I hv put some notes next to the picture. It creates a more meaningful presentation rather than just a plain drawing. I admit that I have to practice more.

Moleskine: Home Garden

Lukisan dari cetusan idea untuk hiasan lanskap rumah. Kolam dihiasi tempayan berpancuran dan pokok pasuan. Bahan gentian yang digunakan untukmembuat kolam dikemaskan dengan kayu cengal, selaras dengan tema neo Nusantara yang diketengahkan. Sekelilingkolam ditaburi batu sungai. Boleh jugak digunakan untuk urutan refleksologi.

Tapiii...tak sesuai untuk rumah teres.

Germany 2006

Biar apa orang nak buat, Aiman tak kesah. Diaorang tak nak tidur malam ker, nak tengok bola sampai subuh ker, lantak la. Nak buat camna, I tak minat tengok football....lebih baik tengok netball, lagi best. Mengadap depan TV 90 minit nak tengok aksi-aksi dan setakat sebijik dua gol rasanya tak berbaloi. Bukannya apa.....tak sabar. Bolasepak Malaysia lagi la waste of time. Kalau peruntukan bola tu disalurkan pada sukan lain, entah berapa banyak medal olympic kita boleh bawak balik. Eh, jangan la mare....siapa yang minat tu, pegi la tengok, aku tak larang.

Tapi walaubagaimanapun, sempena dengan musim bola ni, aku cuba-cuba jugak lukis gambar sorang football star, you know who. Aku bukannya tak nak lukis Beckham atau Kaka, tapi aku rasa muka Ronaldinho ni senang sikit nak lukis dan artistic, especially kat gigi dan rambut dia tu. Lagipun ini aku punya first attemp lukis potrait in colour. To play safe, aku guna Faber Caster Water Colour Pencil. Tak berani guna water colour betul lagi. Lukis potrait ni susah, kalau salah tarik memang tak de mahap.

My Second Moleskine

I thought I was stupid to buy this type of Moleskine notebook for more than RM50 last month, but two days ago, I've already bought another one.... this time a sketch notebook type.

Nowadays I seldom use my Palm PDA except to store my contacts and schedules. Again.... thanks to Abedib for introducing this 'stupid expensive' notebook :-)

My First Moleskine

I received my first Moleskine notebook from Abedib today which he bought for me in Singapore last week.

What is actually Moleskine? Moleskine Notebooks are oilcloth-covered notebooks, manufactured by Modo and Modo of Italy, based on a design by a small stationer in Tours, France. The standard Moleskine Notebook measures 9 x 14cm and features the following: lightweight, acid-free paper, a foldable pocket in the back cover, a cloth ribbon attached to the spine to serve as a bookmark, and a woven elastic band attached to the back to keep the book closed when not in use. The name (officially pronounced mol-a-skeen-a, although it can vary) comes from the French spelling of 'moleskin', which the oilcloth covering resembles, and is a trademark of Modo and Modo.
