Today is already the 4th day Atikah in Hospital Ampang Puteri. She has been attended by four speacialist....ofthalmologist, cardiologist, hematologist (blood specialist) and neurologist. The ofthalmo said there was a blockage on her left eye arteries and thus cause the blood from the retina could not reach the brain. She said nothing can be done to clear the blockage....and it means the 'blindness' is going to be permanent. The cardiologist said no problem with her heart..thank god. The blood specialist and the neurologist are still investigating. They have yet to figure out what actually caused the arteries to block.

Atikah in Hospital Ampang Puteri

Atikah is back in hospital now. She was admitted into Hospital Ampang Puteri (HAP) at around 11pm last night due to high fever. This time we didn't want to take anymore chance, fearing that the high temperature or the virus may affect the other eye, we rushed her to HAP.

She is now stable and her body temp has gone down to normal. This morning, an ophthalmologist will come and check her eye.

Atikah is now back in school

We sent Atikah back to her hostel this afternoon. Although she still can't see thru her left eye, as adviced by the doctor...she need to continue her life and studies. In the meanwhile, we are planning to bring her to an eye specialist at one of the private hospital very very soon. Still arranging for an appointment.

Atikah Update

Atikah has been discharged from Hospital Putrajaya at around 3.30pm today. She has completed her 12 doses of Corticosteroids. Tomorrow morning, we will bring her to Ampang Puteri Hospital for MRI. We will decide the next step of action when we receive the MRI report.

Update from Hospital Putrajaya

After 2 days receiving Corticosteroids, (4 times a day) there is still not much improvement on Atikah's left eye. She claimed that she can now 'see' some pink thing thru her left eye. From electrical point of view, may be the CPU (brain) starts to receive weak signals from the sensor (retina). I hope it is a good sign that her eye is on its way to recover and sense some light.

Atikah is scheduled to undergo an MRI at Hospital Ampang Puteri on Thursday morning. Thepurpose of the MRI is to determine what cause the macula swollen and if there is any other contributing factor why the 'light signal' from the retina is not passed to the brain via the retinal blood vessels.

Atikah in Hospital

Our eldest daughter, Atikah is in Putrajaya Hospital now. She was admitted yesterday afternoon after complaining loss of her left eyesight when she woke up yesterday morning.

This morning, she undergone a test using ophthalmoscope. The cause of the desease is yet to be determined, however doctor suspected it is due to Optic Neuritis, sometimes called retrobulbar neuritis, is the inflammation of the optic nerve that may cause a complete or partial loss of vision. She is due to undergo an MRI test soon.

To everybody out there, please pray for her recovery.

The pot luck hi-tea was held as majlis kesyukuran sebab our roll-out in Sabah last week went out well without much problem. Bincang punya bincang, I decided to bring cup cakes.
